My client who has been redefining what’s possible in the built environment for 40 years is looking for a Security Systems Design Architect to join their dynamic team in Central London. In this role, you will transform initial tender concepts into fully developed on-site security solutions. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will act as a technical authority in electronic security system design, ensuring systems meet high standards of functionality, compliance, and integration.
The successful Security Systems Design Architect will engage directly with clients, attend design meetings, and collaborate across departments to deliver seamless security solutions in smart buildings.
To be considered for the Security Systems Design Architect role you will have:
- Proven experience in a security systems design role, particularly in smart building environments.
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturers such as Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, CCure, Gallagher, Genetec, CEM, Honeywell, Zenitel, and Commend.
- A track record in enterprise, data centre, and commercial campus projects.
- Certifications with key security system manufacturers.
- Any knowledge of audio-visual, ICT infrastructure, IoT, and network architecture.
As a Security Systems Design Architect, you will be responsible for:
- Security Solutions Design: Develop detailed security system designs including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, intercoms, and perimeter detection. Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), labour estimates, RFIs, variation costings, and technical submittals. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices. Oversee the handover process to the delivery team and provide ongoing technical support.
- Client Engagement: Attend client meetings, workshops, and post-tender presentations. Define client requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Act as a subject matter expert during the project delivery cycle. Work closely with internal teams including bids, procurement, and delivery. Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to remain up-to-date with the latest technology.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and update all relevant technical and commercial documentation. Maintain accurate project financials and deliverables.
- Team Support: Mentor and guide junior team members. Support the Design Development Manager in achieving project and departmental goals.
