The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Our client provides 24/7, year-round residential care for children referred by Local Authorities due to trauma, abuse, neglect, or mental health and educational needs. Some children may present with complex or challenging behaviours. Our approach is therapeutic and child-centred, using methods like PACE to support recovery, stability, and growth.

The purpose of this role is for the Responsible Individual to ensure the home delivers high-quality care that meets all regulatory standards, with strong leadership and a focus on safety, compliance, and child development. This role supports and oversees the Registered Manager and staff team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted, local authority standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Monitor and implement changes to regulations and ensure staff understanding.
  • Lead safeguarding across the home and ensure robust child protection procedures.
  • Guide, support, and supervise the Registered Manager and care team.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and professional development to maintain high standards of care.
  • Foster effective communication with external agencies, placing authorities, and internal teams.
Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
  • Willing to achieve Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
Qualifications & Professional Experience
  • Holds a relevant qualification or degree in social work, childcare, or a closely related discipline.
Experience
  • Substantial experience in residential childcare.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding law.
