We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a fast-paced digital team, helping to shape and maintain a high-performing data environment that supports critical business decision-making across multiple sectors including engineering, construction, and maintenance. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and delivering scalable ETL processes, integrating multiple data sources into a central data warehouse, and transforming raw data into curated datasets for reporting via Power BI. You'll also support the development of interfaces for master data between key business systems using the Microsoft technology stack.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and developing robust ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and related tools
- Integrating data from various systems into a centralised data warehouse
- Developing and supporting master data interfaces across enterprise applications
- Creating secure, scalable, and consistent data models for enterprise reporting
- Supporting digital transformation initiatives and helping to automate business processes
- Coaching and mentoring junior BI and data professionals
- Collaborating with software vendors and internal stakeholders to optimise data exchange and integrity
- Documenting architecture, process maps, and maintaining technical documentation
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in ETL development and data integration (ADF, SSIS, SQL Server)
- Proficiency in Azure data tools: Data Lake, Logic Apps, Data Bricks, Power Platform
- Experience with Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps, and other low-code tools
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data quality, and GDPR compliance
- Agile/Scrum experience preferred
- Ability to solve complex problems with a pragmatic, business-focused mindset
- Experience in large-scale, fast-moving environments; industry background in engineering or construction a bonus
