Job type: Permanent, Full-time - Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience (Furniture & Cabinet Design)

Our client is a leading bespoke joinery and cabinetmaking studio in North London, renowned for producing exceptional work for some of the most prestigious private residences in the world. A rare vacancy has arisen for a highly experienced Technical Designer to join their skilled team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks to the highest standard, from design intent through to construction-ready documentation (Furniture & Cabinet Making)
  • Maintain accurate design schedules and flag deviations to support precise costing
  • Coordinate with trades and contractors to ensure seamless integration
  • Conduct measured site surveys using gridlines and manage templating
  • Create door and component schedules using Excel
  • Order and track material samples and finishes
  • Mentor at least one Junior Draughtsperson
  • Demonstrate expertise across materials including timber, veneer, glass, metal, upholstery, and specialist finishes
The ideal Furniture Designer will have:
  • A minimum of five years SolidWorks design proficiency this is non-negotiable
  • A minimum of five years draughting experience in super-prime residential joinery
  • The ability to produce construction-ready drawings accurately, within budget and to schedule
  • Experience conducting measured site surveys and liaising directly with contractors
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organised, deadline-driven, and commercially aware
