This is a hybrid role predominantly covering London & the South East and working an average of 2 days per week from home.
We are currently seeking to recruit an exceptional Upholstery & Furniture Service Team Manager to manage a field-based team of furniture and upholstery repair specialists across London & the South East. You will lead a team of Furniture Service Technicians within the Operations team, safeguarding the business and brand reputation. You will drive your team of experienced Upholstery & Furniture Technicians to deliver premium, on-site upholstery services across multiple sectors. You will ensure your team of Upholstery & Furniture Service Technicians maintain high levels of customer experience. You will deliver effective leadership and help drive the departmental strategy while delivering key objectives.
Colleague training, development, communication and engagement are key to this role. You will need to lead by example, motivate and encourage good teamwork practices whilst ensuring team targets and department objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a customer-obsessed culture ensuring your team strive to provide the right first-time resolution, every time, without exception.
- Conduct regular quality checks of job cards and out in the field in our customers' premises post work ensuring your direct reports are meeting required quality standards.
- Complete regular reviews with all colleagues on your team, celebrating successes and capturing objectives to ensure colleagues develop, and if needed, manage performance.
- Responsible for recruitment, training, rotas and holiday planning.
- Lead by example providing consistent leadership and direction to the team and creating a high performing team culture.
- Accountable for all people support/management, including performance management and absence management.
- Working alongside the Fleet Manager to ensure your direct reports are operating vehicles as per the company vehicle policy.
- Work each Monday morning to safely dispatch all vans leaving our Support Office ensuring vans are fully stocked and service technicians have all required tools etc.
- Ensure that all your direct reports have the correct tools and uniform etc to conduct their role effectively. Ensure all equipment used by your team is compliant with health and safety and PAT-tested.
- Report weekly team results against agreed KPIs, analyse and offer insight and actions to improve.
- Provide your team with regular coaching days, spending the day with them and identifying and documenting technical training gaps.
- Monitor and review driving times and driving performance - providing feedback to your team.
- To analyse all failed visits to find the root cause and eliminate future failure ensuring effective management of overtime usage within your region within agreed budgets.
Skills & Experience:
- A 'lead by example' attitude and approach and the ability to drive excellence through a regionalised team.
- An enthusiastic "can do" attitude which inspires and motivates others.
- At least 2 years experience of working in a managerial role ideally in a remote working setting.
- Experience and proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office / One Drive.
- Full U.K Driving License.
