A long-established bespoke upholstery studio near Watford, Hertfordshire is looking for a skilled Upholsterer to join a small, close-knit team. The studio has been producing high-end bespoke pieces for private residential clients since 1999 and has an excellent reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
The work is predominantly high-end residential upholstery - sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, beds, headboards, ottomans and curtain making, with some commercial work also undertaken. If you take pride in your craft and want to work somewhere that values quality over speed, this is the role for you.
What is on offer:
- £17.00 to £22.00 per hour, depending on experience (£35,360 to £45,760 per annum based on 40 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm
- Ample free on-site parking
- Free Company taxi from Local Train Station at 6:30am each morning, returning after your shift - No car required
- Permanent, full-time position

What the role involves:
- Upholstery of sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, beds, headboards and ottomans
- Strip-down and full re-upholstery of residential pieces
- Bespoke work to precise client specifications and a high-end finish
- Some curtain making as part of the wider soft furnishings offer
- Mainly private residential client work, with some commercial projects
What we are looking for:
- Proven upholstery experience - residential and/or commercial
- Ability to work to a consistently high-end finish
- Comfortable working across a varied range of bespoke pieces
- Experience with traditional upholstery techniques is desirable
- Reliable, punctual and takes genuine pride in their work
- Able to work well within a small team
The workshop is based in Aldenham, Hertfordshire, conveniently located for candidates travelling from Watford, Bushey, Borehamwood, Radlett, Barnet and surrounding areas.
