This is a rare opportunity for a skilled Upholstery Manager to join a growing upholstery manufacturing business in the North East of England, offering a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

This is a full-time, permanent workshop-based position working Monday to Friday with no weekend working. You will be leading the day-to-day running of the upholstery operation, working hands-on alongside the team to maintain output and standards, and playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.

What you will be doing as Upholstery Manager:

  • Managing and leading the upholstery team on a daily basis while remaining hands-on and upholstering alongside them.

  • Working across a variety of fabric types, cuts, and upholstery techniques including traditional and modern methods.
  • Maintaining quality control and finish standards across the workshop.
  • Supporting, mentoring, and developing colleagues to raise the overall skill level of the team.
  • Contributing to a well-run, professional manufacturing environment with a focus on growth.

What you will need:

  • Solid, demonstrable experience as an upholsterer in a workshop or manufacturing setting.
  • The ability to lead and motivate a small team while remaining a practical, hands-on contributor.
  • Knowledge of upholstery materials including fabrics, foams, springs, and frames.
  • A positive, professional attitude and the ability to perform under production conditions.
