About The Role

Are you an experienced upholsterer ready to step into a leadership role without stepping away from the bench? This is a rare opportunity for a skilled Upholstery Manager to join a growing upholstery manufacturing business in the North East of England, offering a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience, one of the strongest packages available in the region. This is a full-time, permanent workshop-based position working Monday to Friday with no weekend working. For the right person, this role offers a genuine route into a Production Manager position as the business develops a real opportunity to grow with a company that has serious ambition.

What you will be doing as Upholstery Manager:

  • Managing and leading the upholstery team on a daily basis while remaining hands-on and upholstering alongside them.
  • Producing and overseeing high-quality upholstered furniture from frame to finish.
  • Working across a variety of fabric types, cuts, and upholstery techniques including traditional and modern methods.

  • Knowledge of upholstery materials including fabrics, foams, springs, and frames.
  • A positive, professional attitude and the ability to perform under production conditions.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is an advantage but not essential; what matters most is the right attitude and upholstery ability.
