We have an immediate requirement for an overseer of creative operations to administrate the smooth running of the creative team for a transgenerational, multi-cultural inner-city faith group: The Tab Church, London. With a vibrant congregation and a national and global online reach, we aim to set the standard for digital ministry that is spiritually enriching, culturally relevant, and creatively excellent.

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Creative Manager to lead, coordinate, and grow a multidisciplinary creative team that consists of creatives, graphic designers, content creators, social media strategists, and videographers—spanning volunteers, employees, and freelance contractors. This role will focus on driving strategic content planning, inspiring creative innovation, and managing a team of designers, editors, content producers, and social media specialists. This includes overseeing the team delivery of graphic design, video content, motion graphics, branding, social media campaigns, and visual storytelling for worship services, events, conferences, and ministry initiatives. The successful candidate will balance faith-driven creativity with exemplary organisational leadership to amplify the voice and mission of the church across digital platforms with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & People Management
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary creative team, fostering a collaborative and spiritually nurturing environment.
    • Set clear objectives, delegate tasks effectively, and manage performance of staff, contractors & volunteers to ensure alignment with and delivery of ministry responsibilities.
    • Facilitate creative strategic planning sessions and provide guidance through regular constructive feedback and coaching.
    • Champion diversity and the unique cultural voice of the Black British church experience in all creative outputs.
    • Manage budgets, income and expenditure for all projects.
    • Ensure systems and processes are supported by clear, written procedures and guidelines outlining the operational requirements of the team.
    • Create team schedules, assign projects, conduct 1:1s, and coordinate team meetings.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution
    • Collaborate with church leadership to develop and execute a long-term creative and digital strategy aligned with the church’s mission and vision.
    • Translate spiritual themes, sermon series, and ministry objectives into powerful digital content strategies.
    • Build and manage timelines for campaigns and ongoing content production.
    • Lead long-term planning for seasonal campaigns, annual events, and strategic growth.
    • Work in collaboration with the Production Manager to plan, manage and deliver all creative elements & logistics for services and productions.
    • Develop and manage timelines, workflows, and project schedules for content development from conception to completion across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, church website, and live-streamed services.
    • Monitor engagement metrics and digital trends to continuously refine content strategy.
  • Creative Direction
    • Develop and drive the overall creative vision and content strategy for the church’s digital platforms (social media, website, livestream, video, campaigns).
    • Provide creative direction for all major ministry initiatives, sermon series, events, and branding projects.
    • Maintain and evolve the church’s visual identity and brand consistency across all platforms.
    • Maintain the highest standards of creative excellence in all visual, audio, and written digital content.
    • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and communications.
    • Direct the visual storytelling for campaigns, sermon series, conferences, and church events, ensuring cultural relevance and spiritual depth.
    • Facilitate creative meetings for event and service planning and ensure clear project timelines are outlined and managed.
    • Work closely with production, tech, and worship teams to deliver cohesive worship experiences.
  • Quality assurance across digital platforms Content Oversight
    • Manage the team delivery of the end-to-end creative process, from concept to execution, for all digital content.
    • Approve designs, videos and campaigns before publishing.
    • Ensure content is culturally relevant, theologically sound and visually excellent.
  • Volunteer Engagement
    • Develop pathways for creative volunteers to grow and serve meaningfully.
    • Provide onboarding, training, and mentorship to creative volunteers.
    • Integrate volunteer creatives into projects with clarity, purpose, and support.
    • Ensure the volunteer onboarding process is supported by clear, written procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • Proven experience in a creative leadership role within a digital/media/faith-based context.
  • Strong team management and leadership skills with a history of building high-performing, motivated teams in a corporate or creative environment.
  • Exceptional project management, organisation, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable creative plans.
  • Undergraduate degree or 2+ years of relevant creative experience.
  • High level of creative thinking and execution.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Great time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and confident presentation skills in order to pitch ideas to ministry teams or senior managers and explain their ideas to members of their creative team.
  • Deep understanding of Black British culture and the ability to reflect that in creative outputs authentically and respectfully.
  • A strong personal faith and understanding of Christian values and the mission of the local church.
  • Knowledge of current trends in church media, worship culture, and digital evangelism.
  • Ability to handle pressure, meet deadlines, and lead with spiritual maturity and emotional intelligence.
  • Flexible and dynamic attitude toward work.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a church or nonprofit organisation.
  • Proficiency with creative tools and platforms (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Canva, Apple iOS etc.).
  • Social media, advertising and marketing savvy.
  • Comfortable working in a church/Christian environment and context, respect and in sympathy with the Christian faith and values.
  • Experience in live production.
  • Experience of the charity and voluntary sector.
