The UK International Audio Drama Festival (UKIADF) is held in the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral and is now in its 12th year. We need a fearless matchmaker to perform introductions and develop new funding relationships with corporate partners for 2027. This role has the opportunity to offer prosperity and long-term stability to the festival, as well as the chance to reach new audiences and participants in exciting new ways.

The volunteer will know that they have made a significant difference to the stability and development of this festival. The festival works with an ongoing team throughout the year, culminating in the joy of the festival itself. The officer will play a central role in that team.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in corporate sponsorship or fundraising, or experience as a corporate partner.
  • Own networks and contacts would be a bonus.
  • Knowledge of Canterbury and its economics is a plus.
  • Experience in marketing and hospitality is helpful but not absolutely necessary.
  • Self-belief and belief in the organisation.
  • Understanding that a festival has much to offer the industry.
  • Fearlessness in making calls and endless patience.
  • A natural extrovert who enjoys meetings and ensuring that corporate partners have an excellent experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Researching and targeting likely corporate partners/sponsors.
  • Making contact with own networks where appropriate.
  • Calling heads of marketing and hospitality.
  • Arranging and joining in-person meetings.
  • Discussing, agreeing, and drawing up an appropriate package of benefits.
  • Overseeing the partnership to ensure both partners have a wonderful time.
  • Developing new ideas and initiatives.
