We are seeking a qualified Practice Nurse, ideally with experience in a GP setting, to join our dedicated and supportive team. As a valued member of the practice, you will work collaboratively alongside GPs, Nurses, Paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Practice Nurse looking to develop their career within a dynamic primary care environment.
The post holder will play a key role in the management of patients across the practice population, delivering proactive, patient-centred care and supporting QOF and IIF outcomes.
We are a friendly and supportive GP surgery committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our local community. With an established multidisciplinary team in place, we are now seeking a full-time or part-time Practice Nurse, ideally with GP practice experience, to join us and help expand and enhance the range of services we provide.
Job responsibilities:
- Provision of childhood and adult immunisations.
- Provision of cervical smears.
- Provision of administering Injectable drug therapy.
- Promoting health education and self-care.
- Providing travel health advice and immunisations.
- Contributing to QOF, enhanced services, and practice development initiatives.
- Work within the SystmOne Clinical system to record consultations, manage recalls, and contribute to clinical audits.
- Collaborate with GPs, pharmacists, practice nurses, Paramedics, HCAs and external services.
- Support the practice in meeting QOF, IIF, and other long-term condition targets.
- Provide ongoing education and lifestyle advice to empower patients in self-management.
- Support service development and audit quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Essential: Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Experience in delivering vaccinations and cervical screening (smears) within primary or community care.
- Excellent communication, time management, and patient education skills, with a focus on empowering patients.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, proactive, and patient-centred approach to care.
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience of SystmOne.
- Travel vaccination qualification (e.g. diploma) desirable.
- Experience in travel health and vaccinations desirable.
