Overview
LAND SURVEYOR ROLE SPECIFICATION: Supporting Senior Surveyors and Project Managers in delivering a variety of survey projects. You will plan and execute small to medium jobs, managing timescales, problem-solving, and escalating issues when needed. Strong communication skills are essential for briefing site teams and liaising with clients. Typical tasks include topographic, utility, mobile mapping, laser scanning, and office data processing. The role requires flexibility in working hours, regular travel, overnight stays, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for undertaking topographic/utilities/mobile mapping surveys
- Total station and GPS/GNSS observations
- Management of survey teams onsite
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise
- Mentor and train less experienced team members as and when required
- Management and maintenance of survey equipment
- Production of CAD Drawings from Survey Data
- Assistance in the overall development of the survey department
- Adherence to Company manuals and processes
- Ensure QA/QC Compliance

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Previous experience working as a Surveyor (minimum 1 year)
- Experience carrying out topographical surveys
- Experience of using Robotic Total Stations & GNSS
- A suitable qualification in a surveying related discipline advantageous
- Experience using CAD software
- A good team player with excellent communications skills
- A desire to learn on the job and have a can-do attitude
