Are you looking to begin or progress your career in utility surveying within a friendly, professional, and supportive environment? Based in Coventry, we are seeking a motivated Junior Utility Surveyor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with some hands-on surveying experience who is keen to learn, develop new skills, and work with experienced professionals across a range of utility mapping and survey projects.

You will have the opportunity to work with modern surveying technology, contribute to important infrastructure projects, and grow within a company that prioritises training, safety, and long-term career development.

The Role

We are looking for a Junior Utility Surveyor to support our survey teams in Coventry and across the UK. The ideal candidate will have some experience or exposure to utility surveying or related fieldwork and be eager to expand their knowledge in identifying underground utilities, gathering site data, and supporting the production of utility mapping outputs. You must be willing to work away from home and/or carry out night work when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with GPR and utility mapping surveys under supervision
  • Supporting investigative utility surveys and completing basic site paperwork
  • Working alongside surveyors, contractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Helping to collate data for utility survey reports
  • Carrying out basic quality checks and assisting in passing data to CAD teams
  • Learning to review survey drawings before client issue
  • Receiving on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced surveyors
  • Supporting Project Managers and internal teams where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Some experience or exposure to utility surveying, land surveying, or related site-based work
  • Basic understanding of underground utility tracing or GPR (training will be provided)
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments
  • A flexible approach to working hours
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one)

It is desirable that you also have some or all of the following:

  • Experience using CAD software
  • Basic Microsoft Word skills
  • Working knowledge or awareness of PAS 128
  • SSSTS (not essential)

This role is site based from our Midlands office in Coventry, but you will be expected to visit our offices in Leeds, Sevenoaks and Altrincham on occasion.

Travel and Flexibility

Travel across the UK is common, particularly in the North and Midlands. Candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.
