Job Description

Business Development Representative | Edinburgh | Social Enterprise / Event Tech

Company Profile

The Surrey Co is proud to be working with the world’s first not-for-profit ticketing platform, built on the belief that businesses that align profit with purpose can tackle the world’s biggest challenges.

Since its launch in 2016, the platform has experienced rapid growth, transforming over $6.5M in frustrating booking fees into donations for impactful projects. Its event partners span music and arts festivals, conferences, galas, expos, workshops, schools, and universities – essentially, any kind of event you can imagine! Over seven years, it has become the go-to solution for hosts to manage events, sell tickets, and drive meaningful change through a philanthropic model.

A global business with offices in Sydney, Auckland, Edinburgh and Denver.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary ~£30,000 – £35,000
  • OTE of £50,000 – £55,000+
  • 4 days in office (WeWork) / 1 day from home

Role Description

This is a career-launching opportunity for an ambitious early-career outbound seller. You’ll drive outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, and creative social outreach to a wide variety of event organisers and decision-makers across the UK!

In your first 12–18 months, you'll:

  • Become an expert in the product and events industry
  • Shadow demos and onboarding to learn full-cycle sales
  • Improve processes across sales and marketing alongside leadership

Long-term, you'll progress into roles such as Account Executive, Account Manager, or Sales Leadership — past hires have gone on to become General Managers. The company is scaling globally with real runway for career mobility.

About you:

  • Some direct early career sales experience (phone, door-to-door, retail etc)
  • Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, and attention to detail and process are essential.
  • Be ethically aligned and genuinely inspired by the business mission.
  • Motivated by exceeding quotas and goals, and continually raising the bar.
  • You want to build a career in sales and make an impact in a scaling business.
  • Hubspot CRM experience and/or a SaaS background are beneficial (although not necessary).
  • Openly seek feedback to continuously sharpen your skills.

Culture and individuality is key! The team loves to see your personality shine through. Your weird and wonderful hobbies, passions and motivations are just as important as your career aspirations and experience.

If you're interested in joining a social enterprise in a sharp, fun and diverse team, hit apply!
