This full-time, on-site position offers great opportunities for career growth. We are seeking a salaried GP to work 2 sessions per week on a temporary basis until 31.03.2027. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

The Surgery, High Street Tyldesley, M29 8AL, has a patient population of approximately 5,000 and is a training practice. You will be working with a team of 2 GP Partners who are both GP Trainers, 1 salaried GP, 1 Practice Manager, 1 Practice Nurse, 2 TNA’s, 1 GPA, PCN Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, 7 receptionists, and the support of PCN FCP, Mental Health Practitioner, Care Coordinator, and Link worker.

A salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract. The post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to the effective management of the practice, lead by example, and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough consultations with patients, assessing their medical histories and current health concerns.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions across diverse patient populations.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with medical advancements.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified GP registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse populations, including elderly and vulnerable groups.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
  • Ability to adapt to different clinical environments and handle complex cases efficiently.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Manchester M29 8AL – reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
  • Licence/Certification: GMC (preferred).
  • English Language: required.
