We are an innovative and forward-thinking company creating bespoke diagnostic solutions, products and tailored services for organisations across the UK and Europe for over 25 years. Our mission is to provide the best quality diagnostic products that meet and exceed customers’ expectations at a fair price. We are looking for an experienced Account Manager for a 9 month contract for maternity cover with possibility of contract extension or permanent position. Full time position, part time applicants will be considered.
Role Purpose
To build strong customer relationships, deliver an outstanding customer experience, and drive company growth by expanding existing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of existing customers, including pricing negotiations, handling complaints, managing price increases, and conducting regular account reviews (remote and in person).
- Track ordering activity and support stock forecasting.
- Drive growth within existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, referrals, and expanding relationships across customer sites and supply chains.
- Conduct customer research and proactive outbound calls and emails to support growth and lead generation.
- Handle general and technical enquiries, delivering a first-class customer experience to both domestic and international clients, including healthcare professionals.
- Manage customer correspondence via phone, email, shared inboxes, and online chat.
- Process customer orders accurately via phone and email, including taking payments, arranging product recalibrations, laboratory analysis, and other service requests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM and other systems.
- Complete/update all customer supplier documentation when required and existing client tenders.
- Support account management colleagues during busy periods and absences to ensure continuity of service and consistently high customer standards.
- Assist with cross-departmental projects such as finance audits, warehouse queries, and new business support, ensuring all external-facing activities are coordinated efficiently.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- An experienced (2+ years) and successful sales person with the ability to negotiate and proactively maximise all opportunities and drive sales activity (essential)
- A good understanding and practical experience of key products, services technologies and market sectors including the NHS (desirable)
- Knowledge of DoA products, healthcare and onsite testing (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- High attention to detail
- Maintaining a positive ‘can do’ attitude with the desire to do things right.
- Is self-motivated and results driven
- Is a resilient and reliable team player
