Overview
Sure Staffing Ltd is hiring on behalf of a growing client in the horticulture/floral production industry. We\’re currently recruiting for a Quality Controller to join a busy and fast-paced team.
Location: Brough HU15 area
Days: Sunday – Friday
Hours: 6:00 AM – Finish
Pay Rate: £14.30 per hour
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
As a Quality Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards across raw materials and finished products. Your eye for detail and ability to communicate clearly will be key in ensuring only the best products are delivered to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed quality assessments of raw materials and finished goods
- Record findings with photographic and numeric evidence
- Prepare grower/supplier reports post-evaluation
- Monitor material status (\”Use\”, \”Hold\”, \”Dispose\”) and communicate accordingly
- Ensure finished products meet customer specifications
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, and Technical teams
- Identify out-of-spec products and implement corrective actions
- Assess packaging, labelling, and overall presentation of goods
- Highlight and address any inconsistencies in product specifications
- Provide quality feedback to suppliers and support improvement initiatives
- Participate in quality improvement projects and audits
About You
- Experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role (ideally in manufacturing or horticulture)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Confident using QC tools and data platforms
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Familiar with customer specifications and production standards
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in flowers, plants, or the horticulture industry is highly desirable
