We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English language and literature and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. This role involves educating students in various aspects of English, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature, while also supporting their overall academic and personal development. The English Teacher will play a key role in enhancing students’ communication skills and nurturing a lifelong appreciation for language and literature.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging and effective English lesson plans that align with the curriculum and accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to build a collaborative and supportive educational community.
  • Teach core English skills such as reading comprehension, creative and academic writing, vocabulary, and grammar, encouraging critical thinking and expression.
  • Manage classroom behaviour using appropriate strategies that foster respect, focus, and a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and additional support to students with special educational needs, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress regularly through essays, projects, presentations, and examinations, offering constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events, contributing to the wider school community.

Experience

  • Previous experience teaching English at various educational levels is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
  • Familiarity with special education strategies and inclusive teaching practices is an advantage.
  • A background in teaching additional subjects such as drama or media studies is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills are essential for reviewing student work and preparing instructional materials.
  • A genuine passion for teaching English and helping students develop strong literacy and communication skills is crucial.
  • QTS, and must already be based in the UK (we cannot sponsor visas).
