We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our pool of staff in Nottingham. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Promote inclusion and independence
  • Liaise effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Contribute to a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEND (in a school or similar setting)
  • Knowledge of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs)
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) – desirable but not essential
