The Supply Register is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with additional needs at Dixons Croxteth Academy. This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience in Special Educational Needs who is confident supporting learners with ADHD and managing challenging behaviour.
About the Role
- Provide one-to-one support to a student with ADHD and additional needs.
- Use a calm, patient, and proactive approach to help manage challenging behaviour.
- Support the student in accessing classwork and maintaining engagement in lessons.
- Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Record observations and contribute to support plans when required.
- Promote positive relationships, emotional regulation, and resilience.
Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ADHD or behavioural needs.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of students.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA, SEN, or behaviour training) are desirable but not essential.
