Hillside High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Turkish-speaking Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support to an EAL (English as an Additional Language) student. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible, employed via The Supply Register.
You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN/EAL team to support the student’s academic progress, language development, and integration into the school environment.
Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and in-class support for a Turkish-speaking EAL student
- Support language acquisition and understanding of lesson content
- Assist the class teacher with adapting materials where appropriate
- Promote engagement, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom
- Support the student’s social and emotional development during the school day
- Fluent in Turkish and English
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
- Understanding of EAL needs or a willingness to learn
- Patient, reliable, and able to build positive relationships
- Right to work in the UK
