About the Role
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher for a fixed-term paternity cover role, starting in May 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving sixth form environment, delivering A Level Psychology to motivated learners. The successful candidate will ensure continuity of high-quality teaching and support students through a key stage of their academic programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons in line with the relevant awarding body specification.
- Plan and prepare structured lessons and schemes of work to support learner progress.
- Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitor and track student performance, implementing targeted intervention where required.
- Prepare learners effectively for examinations.
- Uphold high standards of attendance, behaviour and academic achievement.
- Contribute positively to the wider academic team and college community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
- Experience teaching Psychology (essential).
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to student achievement and safeguarding.
