To manage and coordinate all aspects of sea freight operations, ensuring the efficient handling of import and export shipments, compliance with international trade regulations, and delivery of high-quality customer service., Shipment Coordination
Handle full-cycle sea freight shipments (FCL and LCL) from booking to final delivery.
Liaise with shipping lines, carriers, agents, and overseas partners to secure bookings and negotiate rates.
Ensure timely preparation and issue of shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, manifests, invoices, certificates of origin, etc.).
Customer Service
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates on shipment status and resolving any operational issues.
Ensure customer requirements are met, including special instructions on customs clearance, delivery timelines, or cargo handling.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and check all shipping documentation for accuracy and compliance with customs and international trade regulations.
Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance of cargo.
Maintain compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
Operational Efficiency
Track and monitor shipments proactively, identifying potential delays and resolving issues.
Manage and record all freight costs accurately for billing and invoicing.
Support the finance team with payment queries and ensure correct invoicing to clients.
Team & Communication
Collaborate with internal departments (air freight, road freight, warehousing, finance) for smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with overseas agents, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
Minimum 3 years of experience in sea freight operations within a freight forwarding/logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of sea freight import/export procedures, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
Familiarity with customs clearance processes and international trade compliance.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Strong customer service orientation with good communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in freight management systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Knowledge of additional modes of transport (air/road) is an advantage.
