Your Role: As a Showbiz Producer in our news video department, you will be at the editorial heart of compelling content that both informs and engages audiences. Responsible for overseeing the entire video production process including running orders, casting, filming, producing, edit producing and packaging when appropriate to deliver high quality video content for distribution across channels and platforms.
Day to day you will:
- Lead on the production of Showbiz videos (news stories, interviews and original formats) alongside a production team of Assistant Producers and Video Editors.
- Develop, cast, produce, script and edit produce content for The Sun Showbiz’s YouTube channel and social platforms.
- Work with the Senior Commissioning Editors to ensure video content delivers on time, to budget and to the highest of editorial and grammatical standards expected at The Sun.
- Pitching and developing new creative ideas to the Commissioning Editor to steer the brand toward new audiences to keep our series fresh and exciting, ensuring that The Sun stays ahead of the competition through innovation and excellence.
- Produce and direct shooting briefs and scripts for series, leaning into your creative abilities to ensure each episode has a clear narrative and climax.
- Lead on the packaging of videos produced for YouTube, working with graphic designers and the wider team to effectively title videos and design thumbnails.
- Ensuring videos are delivered for Comm-Ed sign off with minimal changes required.
- Publishing content on The Sun Showbiz’s YouTube channel and other digital platforms while maintaining excellent levels of inter-departmental communication to ensure your content is best utilised across the company.
- Ensuring compliance and duty of care protocols are adhered to, and assisting the production department in maintaining the necessary paperwork.
- Target, develop and manage new on-screen talent suitable for young, digital-first audiences.

- Editorially minded: You know what it takes to create sport content that will grab people’s attention and keep them engaged, taking your lead from the latest news and trends.
- Data-Driven & Results-Oriented: You understand how to use analytics to inform editorial content, including and especially YouTube studio and platform analytics tools.
- Detail-oriented: You pay close attention to the micro as well as the macro - ensuring the highest accuracy standards are constantly met when producing and publishing YouTube content.
- Team management: You are used to managing teams, including producers and editors, to deliver great episodes in a positive manner.
- Leadership & Collaboration: You’re a natural collaborator who works closely with colleagues to ensure a seamless video production process from concept to execution - taking ultimate responsibility for the delivery of your projects.
