We are working on behalf of a well-established independent insurance brokerage in Harrogate that is seeking a confident and experienced Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of commercial claims. This is a client-focused role where you will take full ownership of the claims journey, providing expert advice and hands-on support from first notification through to settlement.

The business prides itself on delivering a highly personal and responsive service. You will work closely with Account Executives and directly with clients, acting as their trusted advocate during what can often be a challenging time.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end claims processes for a range of commercial lines, including property, liability, motor, and business interruption.

Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, and other third parties to ensure timely and fair outcomes for clients.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claim files and communications.

Provide expert advice and regular updates to clients, managing expectations and ensuring transparency.

Assist Account Executives with pre-claim guidance and advice during policy placement when necessary.

Proactively identify and flag trends or risks within the claims portfolio.

Support the business in maintaining excellent client retention by delivering a high standard of service.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years experience handling commercial claims, ideally within a broker environment.

Strong technical knowledge across a range of commercial insurance products.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

A proactive and empathetic approach to client service.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Experience using Acturis or similar insurance systems is desirable.

Cert CII qualification is preferred but not essential.
