Venn Academy Trust is a Multi Academy Trust located in Hull. We operate the Sullivan Centre, a short‑term educational provision supporting young people with medical and mental health needs. This role is for a Home Tuition Tutor, working 5 days per week, 32.5 hours per week, permanent. Grade 7 Scale Point 20‑24. Starting salary will be £26,877.77.
Service Settings
- The Sullivan Centre, classroom based tuition (co‑located at Venn Boulevard Centre)
- Hospital Schoolroom (located at Hull Royal Infirmary)
- Home Tuition Service, providing an outreach education and support service to pupils and schools
- Inpatient Schoolroom (located at Inspire, the region’s new CAMHS (Children's & Adolescent Mental Health service) inpatient facility)
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist home education on a 1:1 basis to pupils, delivering education in a non‑school venue such as the home, another setting, or virtually online.
- Support pupils with complex medical and mental health needs, in the home, on site, or in one of our off‑site provisions.
- Support the academic, social, emotional and developmental progress of individual pupils, keeping a clear understanding of how pupils learn.
- Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate progress of individuals when pupils are away from school.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure pupils can participate fully in their educational programme.
- Create meaningful learning opportunities that match the young person’s developmental level, using multisensory approaches, gentle interaction and patient, responsive support.
Qualifications
- Some experience of supporting pupils with SEN.
- A commitment to working with others to maximise the educational and social opportunities available for children and young people who are often the most vulnerable.
- A driving license, business car insurance and access to a car for travel.

- Term time plus training days, with a full‑time schedule of 32.5 hours per week.
