Companion role for a 19‑year‑old man with Down syndrome, located in North Common/Warmley, Bristol.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a DBS check, references and CV upon application
  • Demonstrate patience, kindness, humour and initiative
  • Support bus training and accompany the individual to events such as theatre, bands and theme parks
  • Assist with toileting when needed (rarely)
  • Encourage participation in sports and other leisure activities
  • Join him for a play swim at the local pool during the additional 4‑hour period each month

Qualifications

  • Age 18–30 to foster a natural friendship
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to your own car
  • Clear spoken English
  • Ideal candidate may be male, but females are also considered

Hours

  • Approximately 16 hours per week during all college holidays (flexible), with an optional 4‑hour session each month (Saturday).

Location

  • North Common/Warmley, Bristol, BS30.
