The Story Museum celebrates the power of story in all its forms - in our exciting building in central Oxford and out in schools and the community. We create imaginative, immersive exhibitions and events that invite our visitors to explore stories in all forms drawn from across time and around the world. This amazing public venue includes Galleries (the Whispering Wood & Enchanted Library), Small Worlds, the WoodShed theatre, birthday party rooms, café spaces and a gift shop.

About the role

Are you the fundraiser we’re looking for? We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and mission-driven colleague to join the Fundraising Team. At an exciting time of growth for the Museum, you will be a key team player, researching and cultivating new prospects, delivering excellent stewardship and events, and keeping our fundraising systems firing on all cylinders. If you’re excited by the power of stories to change lives and ready to make your mark on our fundraising campaigns, we’d love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify through research new funding prospects and opportunities for the museum.
  • Pursue individual and team-wide fundraising targets through a portfolio of prospects and donors.
  • Support the museum in delivering exceptional supporter services including fundraising events, reports, and stewardship activity.
  • Support an effective and sustainable fundraising function by maintaining accurate systems and records.

Contract: Full time, permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Occasional weekend or evening work will be required.
