We are looking for a Stone mason to join the team, working alongside the Factory manager. You will have experience working with stone and kitchen worktops. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with granite, quartz, and marble, ideally with a minimum of 2 years' experience as a stone mason.
Responsibilities:
- Be proficient using hand-held grinders and polishers to cut, shape, and polish stone
- Collaborate with the factory manager to ensure project specifications are met
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
- Produce stone kitchen worktops
- Shape stone
- Wet and dry polish stone edges
- You will be required to attend site visits and customers' houses to assist the fitting team
- Be open to learn and upskill
- Understand CNC technology (advantage)
- Operate the edge polisher (advantage)
- Knowledge of templating and fitting (advantage)
- Operate a bridge saw (advantage)
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Stone mason; 2 years is essential
- Knowledge of masonry and general construction practices
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and stone masonry equipment
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Fair physical strength and fitness required to manoeuvre the stone
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Monday to Friday with overtime available. Occasional Saturday mornings may be required. CSCS Card would be an advantage. UK full driving license is a requirement. Work location: outskirts of Canterbury/Thanet in Kent.
