We have a great opportunity for an experienced and self‑motivated Teacher of PE to join our wonderful department. Our PE team of 8 work together to oversee lessons and to provide an extensive programme of enrichment activities, and our students respond to Physical Education lessons very positively and enjoy using our state‑of‑the‑art equipment and resources. We also have very active sport teams who compete against other schools in the area.

We are seeking a qualified teacher with the enthusiasm and passion for Physical Education, who will be required to teach a range of sports games across KS3 and KS4 to the whole range of student abilities. Key Duties
  • To set high expectations for all pupils, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement.
  • To use a variety of methods and approaches (including differentiation) to match curricular objectives and the range of pupil needs and ensure equal opportunity for all pupils.
  • To ensure continuity, progression and cohesiveness in all teaching.
  • To assess pupils’ work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching and curricular development.
  • To have a thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum programmes of study, level descriptors and specifications for examination courses.
The successful candidate will
  • Have qualified teacher status and experience delivering Physical Education; a 2nd subject is advantageous.
  • Have KS3 and KS4 experience and ability to teach a range of sports games.
  • Commitment to extra‑curricular PE.
  • Aspire to develop further as a professional.
  • Be flexible, adaptable, ambitious, hard‑working and a team player.
  • Have experience of working in a diverse multi‑cultural school.
