Warehouse Operative in Letchworth

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse logistics team at our Production Centre. You will be responsible for handling goods in a warehouse setting, ensuring accurate receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of stock. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain and delivering excellent service to our customers.

Primary responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and process incoming stock and materials.
• Pick and pack orders accurately for delivery or pickup.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
• Operate warehouse equipment (pallet pump trucks).
• Ensure products are stored in the correct locations and safely stacked.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company policies and health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with stock takes and cycle counts.
• Work as part of a team to meet deadlines and performance targets.

A successful applicant should have

• Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred (but not essential).
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and receipting processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to lift, move and count physical inventory when needed.
• High level of confidence using IT, including Office, stock management software and a warehouse management system (full training provided on internal systems).
• Applicants should be comfortable working at height and able to lift/manoeuvre boxes and pallets that can be heavy safely.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
