You’ll take ownership of the management accounting process while acting as a key finance partner to the wider food manufacturing operation. That means getting into the detail of costing, waste, yield, labour, stock and profitability — then turning that information into something the business can actually use.

The role involves:

  • Working closely with operations, production and senior stakeholders — challenging performance, understanding costs, improving efficiency and helping the business make better decisions.
  • Leading the month-end process and delivering accurate management accounts.
  • Providing financial insight and challenge to operational and site teams.
  • Analysing production costs, labour, materials, overheads, waste and yield.
  • Managing and developing standard costing models.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and Capex decisions.
  • Identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting inventory valuation and stock controls.
  • Improving financial processes, reporting and systems.
  • Supporting statutory reporting and audit activity.

What they’re looking for:

  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
  • Strong management accounting experience within manufacturing - ideally experience within food, FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing finance.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experience.
  • Someone confident partnering with and challenging non-finance stakeholders.

You’ll have genuine visibility across the operation and the opportunity to influence how the business performs — from improving production efficiency to identifying where money is being lost and where it can be saved. If you’re a qualified Management Accountant who enjoys getting beyond the numbers and into the operation, this could be a very good next step.
