Packaging Technologist – Food Manufacturing Seaham (Site-based) | £35,000 Packaging looks simple when it’s sitting on a supermarket shelf. Getting it there is another story. This is a hands-on Packaging Technologist role where you’ll be involved from concept through to launch — developing packaging, running trials, solving issues on site and making sure everything works properly in production. You won’t just be managing specifications from behind a desk. You’ll be working closely with NPD, QA, Operations, suppliers and design agencies to get packaging right. The role Managing packaging development from concept through to launch Coordinating artwork, reprographics and print quality with design agencies Leading packaging trials and supporting new product launches Troubleshooting packaging issues alongside QA and Operations Managing packaging specifications, compliance and technical requirements Identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities Working with suppliers and keeping up with new packaging materials and trends What they're looking for Experience in packaging in manufacturing Good understanding of packaging materials, films and production processes Comfortable working across multiple functions and managing projects Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach Good attention to detail and organisational skills A packaging or food-related degree would be beneficial If you enjoy the technical side of packaging but also want to be close to the action — solving problems, running trials and getting things over the line — this could be a good fit.
