Description for the NPD Technologist:

A well-established food manufacturer is looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic NPD Technologist to join their growing technical and innovation team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level NPD Technologist looking to begin a career within food manufacturing and new product development. The successful NPD Technologist will gain hands-on experience supporting product launches, factory trials, customer projects, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment.

The business supplies high-quality food products to major retailers and customers across the UK and offers excellent long-term development opportunities for an aspiring NPD Technologist.

Responsibilities for the NPD Technologist:

As an NPD Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of new food products from concept through to launch
  • Assisting with factory trials, product sampling, and product evaluations
  • Working closely with Technical, Production, Quality, and Commercial teams
  • Helping maintain accurate product specifications and technical documentation
  • Assisting with customer submissions and product approvals
  • Ensuring all products meet food safety, quality, and retailer standards
  • Supporting continuous improvement and innovation projects across the site

Requirements for the NPD Technologist:

  • A passion for food, innovation, and product development
  • A degree or qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related subject preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Previous placement or internship experience within food manufacturing would be advantageous, but not essential
