Finding a problem is one thing. Making sure it doesn't happen again is another.

And that's where a good QA Manager can make a real difference.

This is a food manufacturing site going through an exciting period of development, with investment in its Technical function and ambitious plans for growth over the coming years.

They're looking for someone who can take ownership of the day-to-day Quality function, develop the people within it and help shape how food safety and quality are managed across the factory.

You’ll lead a team of 12 across QA and Quality Control, working across different shifts and production areas. There’s an established operation around you, but also the opportunity to influence how the team works, how decisions are made and how improvements are followed through.

And that’s really what this role is about.

Not simply identifying non-conformances, completing audits or reporting on performance, but understanding why problems happen, working with Operations to address them and making sure the improvements actually stick.

You’ll work closely with the Site Technical Manager, taking responsibility for HACCP, internal audits, process controls and quality performance, while building strong relationships with people across the factory.

The people side will be particularly important.

You’ll need to be someone who can coach, influence and get people on board. Someone who understands that changing how a factory operates isn’t always about introducing another procedure, but helping people understand why something matters in the first place.

They’re open to an established QA Manager looking for greater responsibility, or someone from a smaller operation ready to take on a larger team and develop towards a future Technical Manager position.

You’ll need a background in food manufacturing, strong technical fundamentals and, most importantly, evidence that you can lead people and drive improvements through others.

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t just spot what needs improving, but knows how to bring people with you to make it happen, this could be a great next step.
