We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Shift Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in preventing equipment failures, supporting production efficiency, completing planned maintenance activities, and ensuring operational targets are achieved safely and effectively. This role suits an engineer with strong mechanical and/or electrical skills who enjoys problem-solving and working closely with production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) activities and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly and efficiently
  • Support production teams to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency
  • Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and reports accurately
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and equipment performance optimisation
  • Order spare parts and liaise with suppliers/contractors when required
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, Food Safety, PPE, and company procedures
  • Support operators with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance activities
  • Participate in handovers and communicate engineering updates effectively across shifts

What We're Looking For

  • Electrical and/or Mechanical qualification or time-served apprenticeship
  • Experience within an automated production or manufacturing environment (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills
