This is a night shift maintenance engineer role on a large, fast-paced food manufacturing site in West London. It's permanent, site-based, and ideal for someone who likes getting on with the job without any nonsense attached.

The shift is an 8 hour rather than 12 hour shift. You'll be working 5 nights out of 7 keeping production running, fixing problems properly, and improving reliability rather than just resetting alarms and moving on.

The Role:

  • You'll be part of an established engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of food processing and packaging equipment.
  • This is a hands-on maintenance role where you'll be expected to:
  • Carry out planned, predictive and reactive maintenance
  • Respond to breakdowns and fault-find across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Work on automation, instrumentation, pneumatics and basic PLC-controlled equipment
  • Support changeovers, set-ups and adjustments alongside production
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Keep maintenance records accurate and audit-ready
  • Work safely and in line with food safety and site procedures

There's plenty of variety here so no two nights look the same.

What they're looking for:

  • This role suits a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias.
  • You'll need:
  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/4, C&G, EAL or similar)
  • Solid fault-finding experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge covering motors, sensors, PLCs, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • A good understanding of safe systems of work and food safety standards
  • Confidence using CMMS systems and following SOPs

Experience in food manufacturing is useful, but strong process or FMCG backgrounds will also be considered.

Why it's worth a look:

This is a stable role on a large, well-invested site with clear processes, proper training, and a business that takes engineering seriously. If you're a night-shift engineer who likes ownership, consistency, and decent kit to work on, it's a solid option.

Please apply with an up to date copy of your CV. All applications will receive a response. If you would like a conversation to hear more about this position, please call 01733391515 and ask for Sam.
