Supply Chain Manager Peterborough Area | c.£58,000 | Monday to Friday | 5% employer pension contribution You know that moment when the production plan looks fine on a spreadsheet, but the factory has a different idea? A material arrives late. Warehouse space gets tight. Priorities change. Suddenly, five departments are working to five different versions of the plan. This food manufacturer wants a Supply Chain Manager who can get everyone working from the same one. You'll report to the Site General Manager and lead the teams responsible for planning, scheduling and warehousing. The brief is to make the operation more predictable: spot constraints earlier, improve stock control, build a plan the factory can deliver and give your team the structure to keep improving it. There's substance to the role. You'll have experienced people around you, a direct voice in site decisions and the scope to change how things work. You won't be brought in simply to report on missed targets. What would you get your hands on? Turning demand into a production plan that balances capacity, labour, materials and customer service. Leading and developing the planning and warehouse teams. Improving stock accuracy, schedule stability and the flow of finished goods through the site. Working with Operations, Procurement and Quality to tackle the issues behind recurring disruption. Putting clear processes and decisions in place so progress lasts. You'll have led supply chain, planning or a similarly broad function in food manufacturing or another fast-moving manufacturing environment. You'll understand the numbers, but you'll also go and speak to the people doing the work before deciding what needs to change. This is a fully site-based, Monday-to-Friday role.
