We are looking for a Specification Technologist who is obsessive about detail and confident in owning the full specification process, from supplier approvals to artwork sign-off and retailer systems.

You will manage own-label and branded product specifications, ensuring everything is accurate, compliant, and launch-ready. This is a hands-on role working closely with NPD, QA, Procurement, Production, customers, and suppliers to keep products moving and audits clean.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning and maintaining product specifications across retailer systems
  • Managing supplier approvals, risk assessments, VACCP, food defence, and authenticity
  • Reviewing and approving artwork, labelling, allergen and nutritional data
  • Ensuring compliance with UK, EU, and US food legislation and customer standards
  • Supporting product launches, shelf-life testing, and QAS
  • Preparing technical documentation for customer and BRC audits
  • Owning the Hamilton Grand recipes & specification system

What you’ll need:

  • Strong food science and manufacturing knowledge
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisation
  • Experience with retailer specification systems
  • Food Hygiene Level 3 (minimum)
  • Confident communicator with solid IT skills
  • Nice to have: Bakery background, BRC experience, Internal Auditor qualification, Hamilton Grand experience
