We are looking for a Specification Technologist who is obsessive about detail and confident owning the full specification process. Please ensure you read the below overview and requirements for this employment opportunity completely.

  • From supplier approvals to artwork sign-off and retailer systems.
  • You will manage own-label and branded product specifications, ensuring everything is accurate, compliant, and launch-ready.
  • This is a hands-on role working closely with NPD, QA, Procurement, Production, customers, and suppliers to keep products moving and audits clean.

What you will be doing:

  • Owning and maintaining product specifications across retailer systems.
  • Managing supplier approvals, risk assessments, VACCP, food defence, and authenticity.
  • Reviewing and approving artwork, labelling, allergen and nutritional data.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK, EU, and US food legislation and customer standards.
  • Supporting product launches, shelf-life testing, and QAS.
  • Preparing technical documentation for customer and BRC audits.
  • Owning the Hamilton Grand recipes & specification system.

What you will need:

  • Strong food science and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisation.
  • Experience with retailer specification systems.
  • Food Hygiene Level 3 (minimum).
  • Confident communicator with solid IT skills.
  • Nice to have: Bakery background, BRC experience, Internal Auditor qualification, Hamilton Grand experience.
