The role

You'll sit at the heart of food safety, quality, and supplier performance, making sure products are safe, compliant, consistent, and ready for market. It's a hands-on, varied role where you'll be closely involved in both day-to-day technical management and product development activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Support supplier onboarding and ongoing compliance management
  • Investigate complaints and out-of-spec results, identifying root cause and driving corrective action
  • Work with suppliers to improve product quality and reduce recurring issues
  • Oversee product testing, shelf-life validation, and sensory assessments
  • Support NPD/EPD projects from concept through to launch, including trials and first productions
  • Write and maintain accurate product specifications
  • Review and approve packaging artwork and labelling for compliance and brand alignment

About you

  • Experience in a food technical / quality / food safety role within FMCG or food manufacturing/retail
  • Confident managing suppliers and handling technical investigations
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards (BRCGS experience desirable)
  • Experience supporting NPD in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-focused, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally
