This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to get off nights or wanting their weekends back. I am looking for a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias and decent electrical knowledge (someone who can wire a motor and dismantle a gearbox without Googling it). You will be getting stuck into preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, installations, overhauls; you name it. It is not a cushy desk job. You will be on your feet, tool in hand, working across an FMCG production environment, keeping the plant running smoothly and safely. It is reactive, it is proactive, and it is never dull.

What you will be doing:

  • PPM and reactive maintenance across plant and site facilities
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns (no standing around waiting for someone else to do it)
  • Making sure equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use
  • Getting involved with machine installs and moves
  • Working on single and three-phase circuits
  • Keeping things compliant and above board (BRC and H&S aren't just acronyms here)

What you will need:

  • Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship
  • Multi-skilled mechanical bias with solid electrical know-how (NVQ / City and Guilds Level 3)
  • Experience in a food / FMCG production environment (bonus points for BRC knowledge)
  • Happy to alternate between early and late shifts and cover call-outs when needed
  • Health & Safety awareness and risk assessment confidence

If you like getting your hands dirty and your brain engaged, and you want to work somewhere that values keeping things running like clockwork, this one is for you.
