We are partnering with a growing international business to appoint a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal function.
The role offers a broad remit, with a particular focus on M&A alongside general corporate and commercial matters. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide practical legal advice across a range of business activities and play an important role in supporting the organisation's continued growth.
The role
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading legal workstreams on M&A transactions from initial stages through to completion.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements.
- Advising internal stakeholders on general legal, regulatory and operational matters.
- Working with external legal advisers on specialist matters where required.
- Supporting the development of legal processes, templates and ways of working as the business continues to grow.
About you
We are looking for a qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE and experience across M&A and commercial legal work.
You will ideally have a combination of private practice and in-house experience, although this is not essential. Experience within a fast-paced or growing business would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong M&A and commercial contracting experience.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- A practical and commercially focused approach to legal advice.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and work autonomously.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work closely with senior colleagues.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking for a broad, commercially focused in-house role with significant exposure to M&A and the wider business.
