We are currently partnering with a leading global financial services organisation seeking an experienced Interim Investment Funds Lawyer for a min 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to join a high-performing legal team supporting a broad range of investment management and funds-related matters within a sophisticated, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of UK and cross-border investment funds and related investment vehicles.
- Provide guidance on UK regulatory frameworks, including the FCA Handbook and the UK AIFM regime, working closely with Compliance and Risk teams.
- Draft, review and negotiate fund documentation, including constitutional documents, investment management agreements and service provider arrangements.
- Negotiate client investment management and related commercial agreements.
- Support strategic investment initiatives from a legal and regulatory perspective.
- Partner with colleagues across Investments, Operations, Compliance, Risk and Finance to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
- Assist with fund and investment governance processes, committee materials and regulatory filings.
- Identify and help manage legal and regulatory risks in line with internal policies and risk frameworks.
- Contribute to legal know-how, precedents and process improvements.
Candidate Profile
- UK-qualified lawyer with 4+ years’ PQE.
- Strong experience in investment funds and/or asset management, gained in a leading law firm or in-house financial services environment.
- Particular experience across private equity and hedge fund structures would be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of the asset management industry and its regulatory landscape.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
