Are you a Banking & Finance lawyer looking to move closer to the business and play a more commercial role in the execution of lending transactions?
I’m currently working with a global financial institution that is looking to hire into its Transaction Management team on a circa 6-month contract.
This is a great opportunity for a Banking & Finance lawyer to step away from purely legal advisory work and become much more embedded in the deal process, working closely with front-office teams to drive transactions through from term sheet to execution.
The role offers real variety and breadth, with exposure to a wide range of UK corporate lending transactions and the opportunity to take ownership of multiple live deals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the documentation process across bilateral and syndicated lending transactions.
- Negotiating term sheets, LMA facility agreements, intercreditor agreements and other finance documentation.
- Advising on transaction structuring and identifying legal and commercial risks.
- Acting as the key point of contact for external legal counsel.
- Working closely with Relationship Directors, Origination and other internal stakeholders.
- Managing multiple transactions simultaneously and driving them through to completion.
Who we’re looking for:
- Strong Banking & Finance / corporate lending background.
- Experience running and leading lending transactions.
- Strong understanding of LMA documentation and the UK corporate lending market.
- Ideally, experience across mid-market corporate lending.
- Commercial judgement and confidence working directly with the business.
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and being involved in the commercial as well as legal aspects of a transaction
If you’re interested in hearing more, or know someone who may be suitable, I’d be very happy to have a confidential conversation.
