Legal Counsel – Infrastructure | London (3 Days/Week, 12-Month FTC)
Are you a finance lawyer in private practice considering your first in-house move, or already in-house and looking to broaden your exposure to international deals? This is a rare opportunity for a finance lawyer, ideally with experience in infrastructure or energy finance, to join a globally recognised financial institution on a part-time basis (3 days per week) for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The role is particularly well-suited to those looking for a better work/life balance or personal commitments, while gaining hands-on experience on high-profile international transactions.
You will work directly with the Infrastructure Finance team, supporting complex cross-border transactions and partnering with the business on legal, regulatory, and product initiatives, including green and sustainable finance objectives.
- Support the structuring, review, and negotiation of cross-border export finance, infrastructure, and project finance transactions, working closely with deal teams from early origination through to completion.
- Provide commercial legal guidance on both existing and new financing arrangements, including more complex or challenging scenarios.
- Offer insight into export credit and multilateral agency products and funding structures to support deal execution.
- Assist with identifying, escalating, and resolving legal, regulatory, or reputational matters across the business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, front-office teams, compliance, ESG, tax, and colleagues across global offices.
England & Wales qualified lawyer, ideally trained at a recognised law firm or financial institution. Experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, or export credit (happy to consider those from other areas of finance such as asset/aviation finance). Strong commercial awareness alongside technical legal expertise.
Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus. Hybrid working model – 2 days only in the office. Exposure to large-scale international infrastructure and export finance transactions.
