We’re partnering exclusively with a globally recognised professional services business – one of the most respected names in its field – to find an experienced commercial lawyer for a newly created permanent position within its in‑house legal team. This is a genuinely compelling opportunity. The business operates at the forefront of major infrastructure, construction and capital projects on a global scale, and this role sits right at the heart of its commercial activity.

If you’ve been looking for an in‑house role where the work is substantive, the stakeholders are senior and the projects are the kind you’ll actually want to talk about – this is it.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a highly regarded and well‑resourced legal function, acting as a trusted commercial adviser across a complex, fast‑moving and genuinely exciting business. The role is broad by design – you’ll be close to the action, partnering with senior leaders across commercial, procurement, operations and project delivery teams, and advising on matters that directly shape the direction of the business. The workload spans the full commercial spectrum, with particular weight on procurement, major projects and infrastructure‑related contracting – making this an outstanding fit for lawyers with a projects, construction or infrastructure background who are ready to make the move in‑house, or who are looking for a more influential platform within industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of high‑value commercial agreements
  • Advise on procurement strategy, supplier arrangements and outsourcing structures
  • Support major project delivery – including infrastructure and construction‑related contracting
  • Provide pragmatic, risk‑focused advice on contractual, governance and compliance matters
  • Partner closely with project, commercial, procurement and operational teams
  • Lead on strategic tenders and key business initiatives
  • Drive improvements in contract management, legal process and risk frameworks

About You

  • Strong commercial contracts experience from private practice and/or in‑house
  • Background in projects, infrastructure or construction law would be a significant advantage
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident operating at pace
  • Strong drafter and negotiator with the gravitas to manage senior stakeholder relationships
  • Thrives in complex, high‑performing environments

Why This Role?

  • Permanent position with one of the world’s leading professional services businesses
  • Broad, senior‑facing remit with genuine influence across the business
  • Complex, intellectually stimulating workload – no two days the same
  • Collaborative, high‑performing legal team with a strong culture
  • Competitive package and hybrid working
