We are partnering with a leading international bank to appoint an Interim Banking & Finance Lawyer to join its established legal team on an initial six-month interim contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a transactional banking lawyer to join a sophisticated financial institution, advising on a broad range of lending matters and working closely with the business across a diverse portfolio of borrowers, security providers and financing structures.
The Opportunity
You will join a well-established legal function, providing legal support to the bank’s lending business across both new transactions and the ongoing management of its existing portfolio. The role will have a particular focus on property lending and securities-backed lending, alongside a variety of specialist financing arrangements. You will work across a diverse client base, including individuals, domestic and international corporate structures, charities, and various wealth and investment vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the business on a broad range of transactional credit and lending matters
- Draft, review and negotiate facility agreements and associated finance documentation
- Provide legal support throughout the lifecycle of a diverse lending portfolio
- Advise on property finance, securities-backed lending and other specialist financing arrangements
- Advise on security structures and related documentation
- Work with a diverse range of borrowers, guarantors and security providers
- Provide commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Assist with the development and maintenance of legal policies, procedures and precedent documentation
About You
- England & Wales qualified solicitor with approximately 3–4 PQE or above
- Strong transactional banking, credit or lending experience
- Experience drafting and negotiating finance and security documentation
- Comfortable managing matters independently with limited supervision
- Background in property finance, secured lending, wealth lending, private banking or financial services would be particularly relevant
- Strong technical drafting, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident working with a broad range of stakeholders
- Able to operate effectively within a fast-paced banking environment
