We’re partnering with a leading financial institution to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Counsel on an interim basis. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing legal team supporting Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Equity-Linked Capital Markets (ELCM) and M&A transactions across EMEA and MENAT. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll advise on high-profile, cross-border transactions and play a key role in managing legal and reputational risk across the business.
Your Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad range of ECM, ELCM and M&A transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings, block trades, convertible bonds and public/private M&A deals
- Provide commercially focused legal advice and risk management support to investment banking stakeholders
- Support transaction execution, identifying and mitigating legal and reputational risks
- Partner with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance and front-office teams
- Manage external counsel relationships and coordinate advice on complex cross-border matters
- Contribute to legal process improvements and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the wider legal function
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE and strong ECM experience
- Experience advising on complex capital markets and transactional matters within a leading law firm or financial institution
- Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Prior exposure to international transactions and cross-border legal issues; US securities law experience is advantageous
