Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Probate Paralegal to join their Private Client team at our City of London office.

  • Preparing inheritance tax accounts (IHT400 and supporting schedules) and liaising with HMRC.
  • Collecting and realising estate assets and settling liabilities.
  • Drafting estate accounts and preparing distributions to beneficiaries.
  • Corresponding with beneficiaries, financial institutions, HMCTS, and other third parties.
  • Identifying and escalating complex issues, including disputed estates, Inheritance Act claims, and cross-border matters.
  • Maintaining accurate file management and billing records in line with firm procedures.

Minimum 1 year's probate/private client paralegal experience, ideally gained within a reputable firm.

Strong working knowledge of the Administration of Estates Act 1925, Inheritance Tax Act 1984, and HMCTS probate procedures.

Experience completing IHT400 accounts independently.
